Bahama Shutters

Bahama shutters are permanently mounted with a continuous hinge on the top of the shutter. An adjustable arm keeps the shutter open to form a sunshade or louvered awning. Standard bahama shutters protect interiors from sun and keep homes cooler; plus, as an added benefit they will reduce heat gain on the western side of a building by 20%.
With the threat of hurricane winds, the pins on the adjustable arms are removed and the shutters fold down. Bolts which have already been installed by Hurricane Shutters of Key West are used to secure the shutter flat against the building.
Colonial Shutters

There are two types of Colonial Shutters.
- Track mount Colonials open and close using two tracks that the shutter slides back and forth on with nylon rollers. In the closed postion the shutters are secured by fasteners.
- Hinged mount Colonials open and close over the window with the hinge next to the window frame. This shutter is also secured by fasteners while in the closed position.
